(2026) Mariposa del Aire (for xun, erhu, vibraphone, cajón flamenco and cello), inspired by a poem by Federico García Lorca; to be premiered by the Intertidal Ensemble at Instituto Cervantes, Beijing, 2026 (date TBC).

(2026) Jade Butterfly (for xun, erhu, vibraphone and cello), inspired by a Song Dynasty poem by Liu Yong; to be premiered by the Intertidal Ensemble at French Institute, Beijing, in June 2026.

(2025) Baoding: Old Tunes Reimagined (for erhu, bangzi, cello and piano). Premiered by Xiaohan Chen, Huaijie Liu, Eric Ton and Xingyu Niu as part of the One Journey in Four Spaces event in November 2025. To be performed again by the Intertidal Ensemble at ShenZhenYuan Art Base, Baoding, in May 2026.

(2025) A Colourful Bach in Kaikoura (for cello and recitative), inspired by a poem by Judy Ng. Premiered by Eric Ton and Xiaohan Chen as part of the One Journey in Four Spaces event, Baoding, in November 2025.

(2025) The Sinking of the Titanic (for baritone saxophone, string quartet and electronics), in collaboration with Paul Greene and inspired by Gavin Bryars’ piece. Premiered by Alanas Uzemeckas, Kristina Zubrickaite, Gabija Bikulciute, Gabija Simutyte, Algirdas Skuncikas, Migle Soliunaite, Kristupas Salna and Paul Greene at Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania, in February 2025.

(2024) Kites Universe Journey (arranger, for piano). Arranging/scoring students’ compositions for performance by the international pianist Soo-Yeon Ham; premiered at Handan Concert Hall, Baoding, in June 2024.

(2023) oiRio (for string quartet). Commissioned by the University of Sheffield; premiered by the Arditti Quartet at Firth Hall, Sheffield, in May 2023.

(2022) Remurmurs (open score/graphic score, free instrumentation).Commissioned and performed by CoMA Manchester; premiered in September 2022. This piece will be performed again by CoMA Glasgow (date TBC).

(2022) Tres Tramas del Agua (for Bb clarinet and electronics). Commissioned for the event Where Have the Rivers Gone? by Sheffield City Council in collaboration with the University of Sheffield; premiered by Tianyu (Sky) Chen in June 2022.

(2020) 5D106S1 (for tenor sax, tam-tam, bass guitar, piano and cello), in collaboration with chemist Professor Mathias Brust. Commissioned for the 8 cubed event by the RNCM Centre for Practice & Research in Science & Music (PRiSM); premiered by the Riot Ensemble in October 2021.

(2020) Quasi Uno Specchio (graphic score for baritone saxophone). Commissioned and premiered by Joan Marti-Frasquier; performed numerous times internationally, including at the Mixtur Festival in October 2025 (score and recording released by Aventino Music Avant-garde).

(2020) Colouring Timbres (for flute/bass flute, Bb clarinet and baritone saxophone). Commissioned and recorded by members of the House of Bedlam.

(2019) One, Two, (HIDDEN), Four (for live painting and three percussionists), in collaboration with painter Roland Keogh. Commissioned by Open Circuit Festival; premiered by Line Upon Line Percussion at VG&M – Leggate Theatre, Liverpool, in November 2019.

(2019) Audiovisual Conversations (for tuba, piano and projected art score), in collaboration with painters Ali Barker and Roland Keogh. Commissioned by New Music Manchester Festival; premiered by Jack Adler-McKean and Bofan Ma in October 2019.

(2019) Dans les Noirceurs (a multidisciplinary work for orchestra, contrabass clarinet, baritone, bass and video), in collaboration with visual artist Elia Navarro Valverde and poet Georgi Gill. Premiered by the RNCM Symphony Orchestra, with soloists Jason Alder, David Cane and Einar Stefansson, conducted by Rebecca Tong in October 2019.

(2019) Smooth Pinball (for flute, Bb clarinet and bassoon), in collaboration with Bradford Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Experience (ACE) Paediatric Team. Commissioned by PRiSM for the #MusicSaysDataSavesLives event at Manchester Museum; premiered by members of Festivo Winds in September 2019.

(2018) In the Hope of Rain (a chamber opera for 2 sopranos, mezzosoprano, countertenor, baritone, bass, bass clarinet, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin and viola), in collaboration with painter Roland Keogh, libretto by Andrew Turner. Commissioned by Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera (MCYO); premiered by MCYO participants and Vonnegut Collective at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Manchester, in September 2018.

(2018) Ma(Ris)Ma (for percussion, piano and violin), in collaboration with biologist Dr Hannah Mossman. Commissioned for the 83 event by PRiSM; premiered by William Graham, Aaron Breeze and Stephen Bradshaw in March 2018.

(2018) Schattierungen (for flute, cello and live painting), in collaboration with painter Caroline Bordignon. Premiered by Hannah Clark and Mario Castello Cordoba at the Women’s Day event by Collective31 and SheTogether18 at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Manchester, in March 2018. Also performed by Irene Jimenez Lizcano and Mario Castello Cordoba at the cross-arts weekend at APT Gallery, London, in May 2018.

(2017) Veil(i)ed (for organ). Commissioned by the Cantabrian Association for Organs Conservation (ACOCA); premiered by Jorge Gomez at Nuestra Señora de las Lindes Church, Suances, Spain, in December 2017.

(2017) Quand les pôles opposés… (for flute, bass clarinet, piano, violin and cello). Commissioned by the Allegro Festival; performed by the Ars Futura Ensemble in San Pedro del Pinatar, Murcia, Spain, in October 2017.

(2017) Unité d’habitation (Cité Radieuse) (for wind quintet), inspired by Le Corbusier. Commissioned by RNCM, premiered by Sonaré Quintet at the In Focus: Paul Patterson Festival, in June 2017.

(2016) Thin(Z)sane(for trombone, percussion and piano), inspired by the life of David Bowie. Recorded by the 10/10 Ensemble.

(2016) Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis – act 2 (for flute, Bb clarinet, percussion, violin and cello). Commissioned by the Open Circuit Festival; premiered by the 10/10 Ensemble at FACT Liverpool, in March 2016.

(2016) Origen(for soprano, cello, piano and percussion), inspired by Pablo Escribano’s poem. Commissioned by the Santander Bank Foundation: Creando Futuros; premiered by the Ensemble Cantabria, at the Centro Botin, Santander, Spain, in December 2016.

(2016) Abstraction 41 + Abstraction 50 (for tenor saxophone and electronics), in collaboration with Morgan Beringer (visual artist). Commissioned by Video Jam and FACT Liverpool as part of Ryoichi Kurokawa’s exhibition Unfold (2016); premiered by Ged Barry in May 2016; later recorded by saxophonist Tere Gomez.

(2013) El Gran Masturbador (for flute, Bb clarinet, tenor saxophone, tuba, percussion, harpsichord and string quintet), inspired by Salvador Dalí’s painting. Commissioned by the BCN216 Ensemble; premiered at l’Auditori de Barcelona, Spain, in June 2013.
