About
Dr Isabel Benito Gutiérrez is a composer, educator, and artistic director whose work bridges music, visual art, and cross-cultural practice. Holding a PhD in Music Composition from the Royal Northern College of Music, she currently serves as Lecturer and Module Leader at the HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries, and as Artistic Director of the Intertidal Ensemble. Her research explores musical hybridity, graphic scores, and the integration of Chinese and Western traditions, with outputs ranging from chamber opera to collaborative compositions. A Senior Fellow of Advance HE and member of several professional bodies, Dr Benito Gutiérrez brings innovative curriculum design and international research leadership to her work, preparing students for an evolving global music industry.
